BioUnable to come up with anything clever and witty this time of the day, i will just share with you my bio that i wrote for the EF school I used to teach at in Urumqi, Western China.
This Canadian-born gal is a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed 25-year-old whose parents immigrated from Hong Kong in their adolescent years and settled in a small French-speaking town in Canada. After sharing a happy childhood with her younger but taller sister, she attended the University of Toronto to study International Development and Cultural Anthropology. She has a pot pourri of experience in working and living with refugees, immigrants, children and youth in the great vast lands of Central America, West Africa, China, Mexico, Europe, USA, and of course Canuck-land! Travel is in her blood and she thrives on plunging into unknown places, meeting its intriguing people and tasting its exotic foods. While pondering about her next chapter in life, the mysteries of Xinjiang summoned her with a real force and vitality that she just could not refuse. Always looking for the next thrill, her idea of a good time includes good food, good music, good wine and good company. NEWSFLASH: After two months of settling into Urumqi, she met and is now married to a young lad from the beautiful island of Jersey. Nothing happens for no reason, and she now realizes why such an urgent calling was issued for her to come to this isolated city, the furthest away from the sea. Happy, giddy and unbelievably over the moon, the happy couple have moved to set up a new life in Hong Kong. Stay tuned for more updates...
